Welcome to Aletto. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your
use of the Aletto mobile application, the website at www.aletto.app, and related services (the
"Service"), owned and operated by Tandavaworks Global LLP. By accessing
or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part, you may not
access the Service.
01 Interpretation and Definitions
Application / Service: The software program named Aletto provided by the Company,
in its mobile apps and on the web.
Company:Tandavaworks Global LLP, Chennai, Tamil
Nadu, India.
Device: Any device that can access the Service, such as a phone or tablet. A
browser you have enabled notifications in is also a Device for the purposes of
delivery.
Web App: The Service as provided in a browser at www.aletto.app
(see §14).
Username: A unique public name (your @username) you choose to identify yourself to
other users.
Profile: What other users see when they open your account: your name, username
and photo, the public Channels you run, and how many Followers those Channels have.
Connection: Another Aletto user you are connected with. A Connection is mutual: it
is made when one of you sends a request and the other approves it, and it lets each of you send
Pings to the other.
Recipient: A person to whom a Ping is delivered (a Connection, or an email
address you provide).
Ping: A message you schedule by time, send now, or set to go off on an event,
delivered to yourself, to your Connections, to a Circle, or to a Channel. The app calls a Ping that
goes only to you a Reminder, and one that goes to anyone else a Message. (Earlier
versions of these Terms called a Ping an "alert".)
Voice Note: An audio recording you make in the app and attach to a Ping or
Post. It is Content, and it is stored and delivered as such.
Invitation: An email, or a link you share yourself, asking somebody who does not
use Aletto to join.
Saved Place: A place (a name and map coordinates) you save to reuse when creating
Arrive & Leave Pings.
Arrive & Leave Ping: A Ping that goes off when your Device enters, leaves, or
remains ("dwells") for a set time within a virtual boundary ("geofence") of a radius you set on the
Ping, around a Saved Place. It uses device location and background monitoring.
Subscription: A recurring paid plan: Plus, Pro or Business, billed monthly or,
where offered, yearly.
Free Trial: A free introductory period of a Subscription offered through an app
store, which becomes a paid Subscription unless cancelled before it ends (see
§15).
Credits: A consumable in-app balance used to send Pings by paid Delivery Methods
(currently email). Credits are bought once, included with a Subscription, granted monthly to
eligible free accounts, or received as an Invitation Reward.
Invitation Reward: Credits given, on the conditions in §16,
to a person who invited somebody to Aletto and to the person who joined.
Automatic Ping: An Arrive & Leave Ping or a YouTube or Twitch Ping. Plans limit
how many can be active at once.
Delivery Method: How a Ping or Post reaches a person: app (push) notification,
email, or browser notification. The app labels it "Delivery".
Circle: A named group of Connections you may use as the audience of a Ping.
Adding someone requires an existing Connection with them, and re-adding someone who left or
declined requires their acceptance.
Channel: A stream of Posts by its owner, which other users may choose
to follow. A Channel is public, unlisted, or
private. Public and unlisted Channels are visible to anyone who reaches them; only
approved Followers can see a private Channel's Posts.
Handle: The public @name identifying a user or a Channel. Users and
Channels share one namespace.
Post: An item in a Channel, either written by its owner or produced
when one of the owner's Pings goes off. A Ping or Post carries an optional message and up to
20 attachments (photos, Voice Notes and links). It must carry at least one of them, except an
Arrive & Leave Ping, which may be left empty. (Earlier versions of these Terms called a Post an
"Update".)
Follower: A user who has chosen to receive a Channel.
YouTube or Twitch Ping: A Ping that goes off on a publicly observable event on a
third-party platform (currently YouTube or Twitch), such as a new video, a stream starting or
ending, or a subscriber count passing a threshold.
Arrive & Leave Request: A proposal sent to another user asking them
to create an Arrive & Leave Ping on their own Device, for a place, radius and triggers you
propose, with you as a Recipient.
Reaction: An emoji left on a Channel, a Post, or a Ping you received. You can
hold one per item.
Connection Request / Permission: A request by one user to connect with another,
and the authorization that results. It can be requested, approved, declined, or revoked.
Verification Link: A single-use, time-limited link sent to an email address to
verify ownership or to accept a request.
You: The individual accessing or using the Service.
02 Description of Service
Aletto is a connected ping application. It sends Pings to you and to people you designate,
by app, email and browser notification, triggered by time, by place, or by events on public channels
of third-party platforms. It is available as a mobile app and in a browser at
www.aletto.app (see §14). The Service offers a free plan and
optional paid Subscriptions (Plus, Pro and Business, with a free trial where the app store offers one)
and Credit packs, and it is supported in part by advertising in the apps and on the website.
With the Service you can:
sign in with Google or with an email address and password, or continue as a view-only
guest in the app;
create a public username and profile, and choose whether other users can find you;
register multiple devices, browsers and email addresses;
create Pings (reminders and messages), scheduled, repeating or sent now, to
yourself, your Connections, a Circle or a Channel, carrying a message and up to 20 photos, voice
notes and links;
create Arrive & Leave Pings that go off when you arrive at, leave or stay at a
place you save;
create YouTube and Twitch Pings for public YouTube and Twitch channels;
connect with other users, so that each of you can send Pings to the other;
group Connections into Circles;
run Channels, including private Channels on eligible plans, and follow the
Channels of others;
ask another user to create an Arrive & Leave Ping on their own Device and
include you as a Recipient;
leave Reactions, and invite people who do not use Aletto;
block, report and rely on content moderation;
duplicate existing Pings, and export a copy of your data; and
use the Service in your chosen language and date format, share the app, and get in-app Help &
FAQ and support.
03 Eligibility and User Accounts
To use most features you must register for an account and be legally capable of entering into a binding
contract. You must be at least 13 years old; users aged 13–17 must
have parental or guardian consent; and only individuals 18 or older (or otherwise
legally able to contract) may make purchases. By creating an account, you agree to:
Provide accurate, current information. Failure to do so is a breach of these Terms.
Maintain the security of your credentials and safeguard your password.
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Keep the app installed so your device's notification token stays active and Pings can be
delivered.
Guest Accounts
You may use the mobile app as a guest without creating a permanent account. A
guest account is for trying the Service. It is tied to that installation and is
view-only, except that a guest may create Pings for themselves delivered as app
notifications. A guest may search for and view people, but may not:
add email addresses;
create Circles or Channels, or follow Channels;
connect with or invite people, or send Arrive & Leave Requests;
send Pings to anyone else; or
use paid Delivery Methods.
A guest also receives no free Credits.
Guest data is not recoverable. If you sign out of a guest account without first
linking it to a Google or email account, that account and all of its data (Pings, saved places,
and any purchases attached to it) are permanently lost. We cannot restore them. Link your account
before signing out if you wish to keep your data.
Profile, Usernames and Discoverability
You may choose a unique username. You must not select a username or profile content
that is unlawful, infringing or deceptive, or that impersonates another person or brand. We may
modify, reclaim or reset usernames, for example for trademark, impersonation, abuse, or prolonged
inactivity.
Usernames and Channel Handles are one list of names. A given @name identifies
either a person or a Channel, never both, which stops a Channel from taking your name. Every
Channel must have a Handle. Some names are reserved and cannot be taken.
Names may not imitate Aletto. A display name or Channel name that spells
"Aletto", including with look-alike letters, spacing or digits, is refused when you set or change
it, so that nobody can appear to speak for the Service. Official Aletto Channels are run by us.
Your Profile is visible to other signed-in users, and it lists the public Channels
you run with their Follower total. Running a public Channel therefore identifies you as its
owner to anyone who opens your Profile.
Your profile link.Share my profile gives you a link to your Profile that
you may share however you like. It only opens your Profile: it sends no connection request,
connects nobody, and is not an Invitation. Anyone the link reaches, including people without the
app, can see your name, username and photo. It does not work for people you have blocked, or
while your account is suspended.
"Allow others to find me" controls whether other users can find you by username or
name in search. You can enable or disable it at any time, and you are responsible for your
visibility choices.
Uploaded pictures. You may set a profile photo, and a picture for a Circle or
Channel you own. You must hold the rights to any picture you upload. It is Content for the purposes
of §5 and subject to moderation under §12.
Devices
You may register more than one Device. You are responsible for securing each Device and removing
any you no longer control. Ping delivery depends on a Device's notification token remaining
active.
Phones that stop receiving. We may stop sending to a Device that appears no
longer to receive Pings: a phone not used for 30 days while you use another, or an Android
phone that has not confirmed receiving a notification for 60 days although Pings were sent to
it. The Arrive & Leave Pings it watches are paused. Opening the app on it brings it back, and
you may also remove it.
Email Addresses and Verification Links
You may add only email addresses you own or are authorized to use, and you are responsible for
activity conducted through them.
An address belongs to the account that signs in with it. If somebody signs in to
Aletto with an address verified on your account, the address is removed from your account and
you are notified. Nothing about either of you is disclosed to the other.
Verification links are single-use and time-limited. Treat them like a password and
do not share them: anyone holding a valid link may gain the associated access until it expires.
Only forward a verification link to the intended owner of the destination address.
04 Critical Disclaimer: Nature of the Service
No Guarantee of Delivery or Execution: Aletto relies on third-party services such
as Google Firebase, the app stores, email providers, ISPs and device operating systems. Tandavaworks Global LLP assumes no risk or liability
for any failure, delay, error, suppression, or inaccuracy:
in the delivery of Pings or Posts by any Delivery Method (push, email,
browser, verification links, or any other method); or
in the monitoring, scheduling, triggering, or execution of Pings.
This applies whether the failure is caused by us, a third party, your device, your settings, or
network conditions.
Not an Emergency Service: Aletto is NOT a replacement for official
emergency services (e.g., 100, 101 or 108 in India, or 911 in the USA). Do not rely solely on Aletto
for life-safety, medical, financial, or other critical situations.
Arrive & Leave Pings & Location Accuracy: Arrive & Leave Pings depend
on your device's operating-system location and boundary monitoring, which are approximate
and best-effort. Triggers may be delayed, missed, duplicated, or go off
inaccurately. Causes include GPS and signal conditions, operating-system battery
optimization or background limits, permission settings, device state, map data, and the radius
chosen. Going off also requires that you grant background ("Allow all the time")
location access; with only "While using the app," Pings may not go off when the app is closed.
We assume no risk or liability for the timing, accuracy, or occurrence of any
Arrive & Leave Ping, and you must not rely on one for any safety-critical or time-critical
purpose.
YouTube and Twitch Pings depend entirely on third parties we do not control.
YouTube and Twitch may change, rate-limit, restrict, or withdraw the interfaces a YouTube
or Twitch Ping relies on at any time, with or without notice.
A watched channel may be renamed, made private, or deleted by its owner.
Notifications from those platforms may be delayed, duplicated, or never arrive, and an item
may be published on the platform before we learn of it, or without our ever learning of
it.
We assume no risk or liability for whether, when, or how accurately a YouTube or
Twitch Ping goes off, and such a Ping must not be relied on for anything time-critical or
commercially significant. Subscriber counts and similar figures are as reported by the
platform, which may round or delay them; we do not verify them.
User Responsibility: You are responsible for making sure your device is powered
on and connected to the internet, and that notification permissions (and, for Arrive & Leave
Pings, location permissions) are granted. You are also responsible for independently verifying
anything important.
05 Content
The Service allows you to post and send Content. This includes:
Pings of every kind, and messages;
photos, voice notes and links you attach, up to 20 per Ping or Post;
Channels and their Posts;
Circle names and pictures, and your profile details; and
Reactions.
You are responsible for the Content you post and send, including its legality and reliability. You
grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, re-encode, resize, transmit,
distribute, and moderate that Content, solely through the Service, to provide the intended
functionality and enforce these Terms. Re-encoding and thumbnailing are technical steps needed to
deliver a photo to a lock screen and an email; they grant us no further rights.
How files you attach are shared. A photo or voice note you attach to a Ping or
Post is kept in a private store.
In the app and on the website, it is shown only to people signed in and entitled to see
it.
In an email, it is reached through a link anyone holding that email can
open, for about 30 days. Anyone your recipient forwards the email to
can open it until then.
Lock-screen previews use a similar link, which lasts about 24 hours.
In a public or unlisted Channel, the file is public, like the rest of the
Post.
Deleting the Ping or Post is what withdraws its files. Do not attach anything whose disclosure you
could not tolerate. You must hold the rights to everything you attach, and you must not attach
anything unlawful.
Public Channel Content is published. For Content you post to a public or unlisted
Channel (the Channel's name, description, picture, Handle, and its Posts), the license above also
covers public display, because such a Channel is public by design (see
§8). Deleting a Post removes it from the Service, but it cannot recall copies
others have already made. Do not post to a public or unlisted Channel anything you would not
put on a public web page.
06 Connections, Recipients and Access
The Service lets you connect with other users, designate Recipients, and send and answer connection
requests. You agree that:
You will only add, invite, include, or send Pings to people who have consented to
receive them. You are solely responsible for having that consent.
Connections are mutual. A Connection is made when one user sends a connection
request and the other approves it; if each sends a request to the other, the Connection is made at
once. A Connection lets each of you send Pings to the other, include the other as a Recipient, and
add the other to a Circle. Each of you still controls, separately, which of your own Devices and
email addresses receive the other's Pings. Either party may remove a Connection
at any time, which ends it in both directions.
A user may decline a request, block, or remove a Connection, or opt out of receiving Pings, at any
time. You will not be told whether a request was declined; it remains shown as
waiting.
Recipients can stop your emails. Every Ping email carries a stop link. A
recipient who uses it stops email from you for all of your Pings until they turn it back on.
You are not told, and, as with every other setting that is theirs, the cost of sending to them
is unchanged (see §16).
You will not use usernames, search, Profiles, Connections, connection requests, or Pings to send
spam, harassment, threats, or unlawful, deceptive, or infringing content, or to contact people who
have not consented.
We may suspend or remove usernames, Connections, requests, or Content that violate these
Terms or are reported as abusive.
Inviting people who do not use Aletto
You may invite somebody by email, or by sharing an invitation link
yourself. Invitations cost no Credits.
Invite only people you actually know and who would welcome it. Using invitations to
reach strangers, harvested addresses, or purchased lists is a breach of these Terms and of
§22.
An invitation email says who invited them and nothing more. It carries no Ping
content and no preview.
Strict limits apply and are not negotiable:
one invitation per address per sender, ever;
a small lifetime cap on how many invitations any one address may receive from anybody;
at most ten invitation emails from you in a day (the day ends at 00:00 UTC); and
a limit on how many unaccepted invitations you may send.
Every invitation carries a one-click unsubscribe, and an address that unsubscribes can
never be invited again by anyone.
We do not report whether an invitation was delivered, opened, suppressed, or already sent by
somebody else, and an invitation to a suppressed address is accepted and silently not
sent. That is deliberate: an honest answer would turn the invite feature into a way of testing
whether an email address exists and what its owner has done. Do not treat a successful submission
as proof of delivery.
Attempting to defeat any of the above, with additional accounts, address variations, or
automation, is a serious breach and may result in immediate termination.
Invitation Rewards
When somebody creates a new Aletto account by opening your invitation link (shared
by you or sent by email), and that account then has a verified sign-in and its first Ping reaches
somebody other than themselves, both of you receive the Invitation Reward in
Credits. The amount is shown in the app when you invite, and we may change it or stop the offer at
any time. A reward already earned is not taken back because the offer changed.
Only the first invitation a new account opens counts, and only for an account
created after that invitation was made. Somebody who already had an account does not count.
The inviter is rewarded for a limited number of new accounts each calendar month (UTC). Beyond
it the person who joined is still rewarded and the inviter is not.
Invitation Rewards are Allowance Credits (see §16): they
last until your next monthly allowance reset and then lapse.
Creating accounts to reward yourself, inviting yourself, trading invitations, or any other way of
farming rewards is prohibited. We may withhold, reverse or cancel a reward, and suspend the
accounts involved, where we reasonably believe the rules were not met.
07 Circles
A Circle is a named group you may address a Ping to. It is a convenience over Connections you already
have, and it does not create a Connection.
You may only add a person to a Circle if you are already connected with them.
Where that Connection exists, the person becomes a member immediately. The
consent is the one they already gave when the Connection was made; a Circle only groups people you
could already reach individually.
Once a person has left a Circle or declined an invitation to it, adding them again is an
invitation they must accept, and a decline bars any further invitation to that Circle
for 14 days. You will not be told that they declined. You must not attempt to
defeat any of this (see §22).
Adds are rate-limited per owner, independently of your plan. Bulk-adding people to a Circle looks
the same as an abusive import, and the limit on Circle size does not limit how fast people are
added.
Members can see the other members. Do not put someone in a Circle where that
disclosure would be unwelcome or unlawful.
A member may mute a Circle or leave it at any time, without your
approval. If a member leaves, you may not silently re-add them; a fresh invitation must be
accepted. Attempting to defeat this, for example by repeatedly re-inviting somebody who has left or
declined, is a breach of §22.
If your Connection with a member is later removed, or you are blocked, they stop receiving the
Circle's Pings even while the membership record remains.
Membership is resolved when the Ping goes off. You are responsible for who is in a
Circle at that moment, not only at the moment you created the Ping.
Deleting a Circle that Pings still send to asks you first and tells you how
many. If you go ahead, those Pings are paused, not deleted; you may point them
at someone else and resume them. A Ping that would reach nobody cannot be resumed until it has someone to send to.
Circles are not a broadcast tool. Using one to reach people who have not genuinely consented, or to
send bulk unsolicited messages, is a breach of these Terms.
08 Channels and Posting
A Channel inverts the Circle: the Follower chooses, not you.
A public or unlisted Channel, and everything in it, is public. Its name, description,
picture, Handle and Posts can be read by anyone, including people without an Aletto account, and so
can the photos and voice notes in those Posts. Unlisted means only
that it is kept out of Discover and off your Profile. It is not private: anyone with the link
can view it. If you need to control who sees something, use a private Channel (on an
eligible plan) or a Circle.
If you run a Channel
You may never add a Follower. Following is the Follower's own act and is the only
consent involved. There is no invitation mechanism, and you may not simulate one.
Private Channels. On plans that include them (Plus, Pro and Business), you may
make a Channel private. Each plan limits the total number of different approved Followers across
all your private Channels; when you reach it, you cannot approve another request until you
upgrade or remove a Follower.
People ask to follow a private Channel, and you approve or refuse each request. Only
approved Followers see its Posts. Anyone with the link can still see its name,
description and picture.
A person you refuse is not told. Their request continues to show as
waiting, and you must not tell them by other means in a way that defeats this.
If your plan no longer includes private Channels, the Channel stays
private, but you may be unable to post to it until your plan allows it
again. We will never make a Channel public because of a billing change.
You are responsible for everything posted to your Channel, including Posts produced
automatically when your own Pings go off. You must hold the rights to what you post.
You must not use a Channel Handle, name, picture, colour or description that impersonates, or is
likely to be confused with, another person, Channel or brand. Handles share one namespace with
usernames. We may reclaim, reset, or reassign a Handle, including for trademark, impersonation,
abuse, or prolonged inactivity.
You may see how many people follow and the breakdown by Delivery Method. You do not
receive a list of your Followers, and you must not attempt to derive one, for example
from Reactions, timing, or any other signal.
Posting is subject to your plan's limits on Channels owned, private Channels, and Posts per
day (see §17). We may suspend or remove a Channel, its Handle, or its Posts
under §12.
Deleting a Channel pauses the Pings that posted to it. They are not deleted;
you may point them elsewhere and resume them. A Ping that would reach nobody cannot be resumed until it has someone to send to.
If you follow a Channel
A new follow starts on app notifications, which are free and reach all your devices. On the
Channel's page you choose the Delivery Methods and which of your devices it reaches, may turn on
email to one address of your choice, may set a daily limit on how many of its Posts reach you,
and may mute or unfollow at any time.
Because you choose the Delivery Method, you pay for it. If you turn on a paid
Delivery Method for a Channel, that Channel's Posts consume your Credits, not
the owner's (see §16). The app shows the price and asks you to
confirm before it is turned on. Set a daily limit if you want a hard ceiling on that.
Blocking a Channel's owner does not unfollow their Channel. Unfollow it if you no longer want its
Posts.
A Channel's content is its owner's, not ours. We do not endorse it and are not responsible for
it beyond our moderation obligations.
09 YouTube and Twitch Pings
A YouTube or Twitch Ping observes a public channel on a third-party platform and
notifies you of an event you selected.
No affiliation. Aletto is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by
YouTube, Google, or Twitch. Their names and marks belong to them.
We never ask for your account on those platforms. YouTube and Twitch Pings read
public information about a channel. Do not expect them to reflect anything private to your account
there.
You may only watch channels you may lawfully watch. You must not use YouTube or
Twitch Pings to harass or stalk anyone, to build a monitoring service targeting a person, or to
redistribute a platform's data in a way its terms forbid.
Content in a notification belongs to the platform and the creator. A YouTube or
Twitch Ping may include a title, thumbnail, or link. You may not use Aletto to strip, re-host, or
republish that content outside the notification. Titles and pictures taken from a platform are
removed from your Ping history after 28 days, as the platform's rules require; the link
remains.
The reliability disclaimer in §4 applies to YouTube and Twitch Pings in
full. We may change the platforms and triggers supported, or withdraw a type of YouTube or Twitch
Ping, if a platform changes its rules or interfaces. YouTube and Twitch Pings can be created in the
mobile app or on the website.
10 Arrive & Leave Requests
You cannot create an Arrive & Leave Ping on another person's Device. You may only
ask them to create one themselves.
You may only ask someone you are connected with. The resulting Ping is sent by
them to you, which your Connection already allows.
You propose the place, radius and triggers. The person you ask may create the Ping from your
proposal, decline, or ignore the request. Declining requires no reason, and you will not
be told that they declined. You will be told if they create it.
If they create it, the resulting Ping is theirs outright. They own it, it runs on
their Device, and they may change its message and other Recipients, move it to another of their
Devices, pause it or delete it at any time without your consent or knowledge. The place, radius
and triggers you proposed stay as proposed for the life of the Ping, and you remain one of its
Recipients, but you hold no rights over it. What it can do depends on their plan, not
yours.
You may not choose who else receives it. Creating it adds you; any further
Recipients are the owner's decision.
One outstanding request per person, and a waiting period after a decline. You may
revise or withdraw a pending request, but not redirect it to somebody else. Attempting to defeat
these limits, whether by withdrawing and resending, by using additional accounts, or otherwise, is
a breach of §22.
You must have a genuine, consensual reason to ask. Using this feature to monitor, track, or
pressure another person is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate suspension
or termination. If you are asked in a way that makes you uncomfortable, decline, and use §12 to block or report.
A Reaction is an emoji, and you hold one per item. Choosing another replaces it;
choosing the one you already hold removes it. Skin-tone variants of the same emoji count as one
Reaction. Only emoji and symbols are accepted, so you may not use a Reaction to place text under
somebody else's message.
No emoji has a defined meaning in the Service. A Reaction is not an
acknowledgement, a confirmation, an acceptance, or a reply. It is not reported to a sender as any
of those, and must not be relied on as evidence that anyone read, understood, or agreed to
anything.
You may react to a Channel and its Posts only if you follow or own that Channel.
A Reaction is visible to others. On a Ping sent to you directly or in a Circle, where the sender
already knows who received it, your name may be shown to the sender, who may be notified of your
Reaction, and in a Circle to the other members. On a Channel, a Post, or a Ping sent to a
Channel, Reactions are shown as a count and names are not disclosed, because the
list of Followers is not public.
You may not use Reactions to harass, and you may not manipulate Reaction counts, for example with
additional accounts or automation. Doing so is a breach of §22.
Reactions are not a private means of communication and are not a substitute for blocking or
reporting.
12 Blocking, Reporting and Moderation
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. By using the Service you
agree that there is no tolerance for objectionable, offensive, harassing, threatening, hateful, or
otherwise abusive content or conduct directed at other users. You agree not to post, send, or transmit
such content. Not allowed anywhere in the Service: spam and scams; harassment or bullying; hate
speech; sexual or sexually explicit content, and any sexual content involving minors; violence,
threats, or content that encourages them; content that encourages or promotes self-harm or suicide;
and impersonating any person or brand. You acknowledge that we may remove objectionable content and terminate or
suspend the accounts of users who engage in abusive behavior immediately, without prior
notice, at our discretion.
Blocking: You may block another user at any time. Blocking stops that user from
connecting with you, contacting you, or sending you Pings, and hides you from each other in
search and on Profiles. The blocked user is not told. You can manage blocked users under
People → Blocked & Declined.
Reporting: You may report a user, a Ping or
Post, a Channel, or a Circle that you believe
violates these Terms. Every report is ultimately assessed against the responsible account; for a
Channel or a Circle, that is its owner. You agree to report in good faith and not to submit false
or abusive reports.
Evidence: A report records the reported Content as it stood when the report was
made, and survives your changing or deleting the thing reported. Renaming a
Channel, replacing a picture, editing a Post, or deleting any of them does not withdraw a report
or erase the record of what was complained about.
Moderation: We may automatically screen, filter, or restrict message and Ping
content. We may warn users, suspend them, remove content, or terminate accounts that violate these
Terms. Moderation decisions are made at our reasonable discretion, and we may retain related
records for safety, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
No circumvention: You will not attempt to evade a block, moderation action, or
account suspension, for example by creating new accounts or usernames.
13 Notifications and Devices
Choosing where Pings arrive: Each source chooses for itself. For each person and
each Channel you may choose which of your Devices receive its Pings by app, and the one email
address its Pings go to by email. A new Device receives from every source you get by app; a new
email address receives from none until you choose it. Your own Pings go to the Devices and the
one address you choose for them. Removing an address moves what used it to your primary
address.
System & account notifications: You acknowledge and agree that important
system and account notifications are sent to all of your registered
Devices, whatever you have chosen above. These include subscription
or Credit changes, Pings paused automatically, an email address moving to another account, and
security or account messages. They are operational messages about your account and the Service,
not marketing. You cannot opt out of them while you maintain an account, beyond turning off
operating-system notifications for the app.
Three Delivery Methods, and only three. Pings are delivered by
push to an app, by email, and by browser
notification. SMS and WhatsApp are not offered, whatever any list in the app may
appear to suggest. Browser notifications are a Delivery Method of their own: enabling them does not
change what your phones receive, and disabling them in a browser does not affect your other
Devices.
What a notification shows before you open it. A notification's title shows who
sent the Ping or, for an Arrive & Leave or YouTube and Twitch Ping, what happened, and its body
normally shows the message. This does not depend on your plan. We may, for all users, replace the
message text on the lock screen with a prompt to open the app. This is not a security control. Use
your device's settings if you need notification content kept off your lock screen.
Language: Notifications and emails we compose are written in the language you
choose. The words a person wrote are delivered as written.
OS permissions: All delivery remains subject to the notification permissions you
grant at the operating-system level or, for a browser, to the site.
Location permission: Arrive & Leave Pings require you to grant location access,
including background ("Allow all the time") access, and to keep device location
enabled. You are responsible for these settings. The app checks them before an Arrive & Leave
Ping is created or resumed on a Device, and shows the Ping as Not active while one is
missing. You can revoke location access at any time, or delete Saved Places in Settings → My
Places, which stops the related Arrive & Leave Pings.
An Arrive & Leave Ping's boundary is registered and monitored on the physical hardware
of one Device at a time, at first the Device it was created on. The app
shows which Device that is.
To change which place an Arrive & Leave Ping watches, its radius, or its triggers, you
must do so from that Device. Its message and Recipients can be changed anywhere.
You may move an Arrive & Leave Ping to another of your Devices with Watch on This
Phone. If the Device watching it signs out, the Ping is paused until you resume it on,
or move it to, another Device.
If you reinstall the app or sign in again on the same Device, its Arrive &
Leave Pings return to it.
Undo. After you send a Ping that is due within a minute, the app may offer
Undo for a few seconds. Undo works only until the Ping is sent; once it has gone out,
it cannot be recalled.
Between Devices. If you have no working phone when a Ping is sent to you but
used one in the last 30 days, the Ping waits in your Pings tab; it is not pushed to you later.
14 Using Aletto on the Web
Aletto is also available in a browser at www.aletto.app. It is the same Service and the
same account, and these Terms apply to it in full. The following are specific to web use.
Sign-in and sessions. On the web you sign in with Google, or with
an email and password. If you have no Aletto account yet, signing in on the web
creates one, and these Terms apply from that moment. Signing in creates a session that lasts up to
14 days and is carried by a cookie. You are responsible for the security of any
browser you sign in on. Sign out when you finish on a shared, public, or borrowed
computer, because closing the browser does not end the session.
Guest accounts are not available on the web. Use the mobile app for that.
No purchases on the web. Your plan, Credit balance and history are visible in a
browser, but Subscriptions and Credits are bought only in the mobile app, through the app stores
(see §15 and §16). We may add web purchasing later;
until then, nothing on the website takes payment.
Some things are app-only. Creating an Arrive & Leave Ping and adding a Saved
Place need the mobile app, because an Arrive & Leave Ping runs on a phone. On the web you can
write Pings with photos and Voice Notes (recording needs a browser that supports it), create
YouTube and Twitch Pings, send Arrive & Leave Requests, set Channel and Circle pictures, and
invite people by email. You can see Arrive & Leave Requests sent to you on the web, and decline
them there; creating the Ping one asks for needs the app.
Export and deletion on the web. You may export your data or delete your account
on the website. You will be asked to sign in again in the browser first.
The browser is its own Delivery Method. Enabling browser notifications registers
that browser as a Device and does not change what your phones or tablets receive. Browser
notifications depend on the permission you grant the site and on your browser's own push service.
The reliability disclaimer in §4 applies to them exactly as it does to
push and email.
Automated access is prohibited. You may not scrape, crawl, spider, mirror, or
programmatically harvest the website or its pages, bypass its rate limits, or access it other than
through a normal browser (see §22).
Public pages. Some links open pages that need no sign-in and show only content
that is already public. Sharing such a link shares that content with whoever receives it.
15 Subscriptions and Auto-Renewal
Aletto offers optional auto-renewing Subscriptions, sold and processed through the Apple App
Store (StoreKit) or Google Play Billing, with entitlements managed by
RevenueCat. A free plan is available without payment.
Pricing & plans (Plus, Pro and Business, monthly and, where offered, yearly)
are shown in the app and at the point of purchase before you pay. Prices may vary by region, and
include applicable taxes where required.
Free trial: Where the app store offers it, a new subscriber may start Pro with a
free trial (currently 7 days). The trial is run by the app store, which decides eligibility and
allows one trial per store account. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial
ends, it converts to a paid Subscription and you are charged at the price shown when
you started it. During a trial you receive the plan's features and no advertising, but
not the plan's monthly Credits; those are granted from the first paid period.
Cancelling during the trial ends the plan when the trial ends.
Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you
confirm the purchase.
Auto-renewal: Your Subscription automatically renews for the same period unless
auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account is charged within the 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Manage / cancel: You can manage or cancel your Subscription, and turn off
auto-renewal, at any time in your device's Account Settings (Apple App Store or Google
Play). Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period.
Price changes: If we change prices, we will notify you in advance as required by
the app stores and applicable law. Changes apply to subsequent renewals.
16 Credits and Virtual Items
What Credits are. Credits are a consumable in-app balance, used to send Pings by
paid Delivery Methods (currently email). They are bought as a one-time (consumable)
purchase, included with a Subscription, or granted as described below. App
(push) and browser notifications are free and consume no Credits, and neither do
Invitations.
Cost is per recipient, per Delivery Method. Credits are consumed once for
each person you address by a paid Delivery Method, each time the Ping is sent. One
Ping emailed to ten recipients consumes ten Credits, so larger recipient lists cost
proportionally more. Credits pay for sending the Ping to that person, not for its
receipt: the charge is the same whether or not it reaches them, and does not vary with how many
devices or addresses they keep. Each recipient receives it at one address of
their own choosing. The sender pays for every delivery of a Ping; you never
consume Credits for a Ping somebody else sent you. The app shows the estimated cost before you
send.
Circles follow the same rule, counted at the moment of sending. A Ping to a
Circle consumes Credits once for each member on each paid Delivery Method it uses.
A Circle's membership is resolved when the Ping is sent, not when it was created, so its cost can
change from one time to the next as people join or leave. The figure shown in the app is based on
the membership when you were quoted.
Pings you send to yourself are charged like any other. By a paid Delivery
Method, your own Pings go to one of your addresses, the one you choose in the
app, so a Ping to yourself consumes Credits once each time it is sent. Push notifications remain
free, to yourself as to anyone.
Allowance Credits are granted each period and are "use-it-or-lose-it". They
replace the previous period's allowance rather than adding to it, and they do not carry over.
Allowance Credits included with a Subscription are granted per billing period. On a yearly
Subscription they are granted every month, on the day of the month it was purchased.
Free monthly Credits. We may also grant free Credits once a month to
signed-in accounts on the free plan, on the day of the month the account was created (or
the last day of a shorter month). This is a promotion, not an entitlement: we may change
the amount, the Delivery Methods it covers, or who qualifies, or stop it at any time.
Guests do not receive it. Free monthly Credits pay for email only.
Invitation Rewards (see §6) are added to your
Allowance Credits and lapse at the next monthly reset.
The refill date shown in the app is when your Allowance Credits are next replaced. It is not a
renewal or billing date.
Allowance Credits are used before purchased Credits. Purchased Credits, bought as
a one-time pack, persist until used, subject to these Terms.
Credits have no monetary value, are not redeemable for cash, and are
non-transferable except as expressly provided in the app.
Channels are the exception: the Follower pays. When you follow a Channel, you choose
the Delivery Method. If that method is paid, the Channel's Posts consume your
Credits rather than the owner's: one charge per Post delivered to you by that method, at the
one address you choose for that Channel. This is
deliberate. A Channel's audience is unbounded, so its owner cannot carry a cost that grows with
the number of Followers. You may limit how many of a Channel's Posts reach you per day, mute it,
or unfollow it at any time. If your balance cannot cover a Post, it is not delivered to you by
the paid method.
When Credits are consumed, and when they come back. Credits are consumed when a
Ping is queued for a paid Delivery Method. Once consumed, they are non-refundable except where
required by applicable law. We credit the amount back automatically only where we
terminally fail to hand a message to the delivery provider, or the provider
rejects it outright. No other outcome is refundable. A message
that is sent and then ignored, filtered or deleted is not a failure. Nor is one that does not reach
a recipient because of settings that are theirs to control. What a recipient accepts — on
which devices and addresses, and from whom — is private to them, including from you,
and the cost of sending to a person therefore never depends on it.
17 Plan Limits and Changes
What each plan limits. Each plan sets limits on:
active Automatic Pings (Arrive & Leave Pings and YouTube and Twitch
Pings);
saved places;
Channels you may own, and the number of approved Followers across your
private Channels;
Circles you may own;
Channel Posts per day;
free deliveries per day (app and browser notifications); and
included Credits.
Private Channels are available on the Plus, Pro and Business plans. On the free plan an Arrive
& Leave Ping goes off once; repeating Arrive & Leave Pings, the
Stay trigger, and a repeat gap shorter than 60 minutes need a paid plan. Reminders
and instant Pings are unlimited on every plan. The current limits are shown in the app, and a
feature your plan does not include is shown with a lock. Reminders that repeat every few
hours also need a paid plan. A place saved for an Arrive & Leave Request you were
asked to create does not count toward your saved places, and such a Ping is subject to your plan,
as its owner.
The cap is on how much you send per day, not on how many people one Ping may
reach. A large Circle is not itself limited; sending repeatedly is. Only free
deliveries count against the daily delivery limit, because paid deliveries are already limited by
the Credits that pay for them. Channel Posts count against your Posts-per-day allowance rather
than your deliveries allowance, because one Post is one Post however many Followers it
reaches.
Downgrades / expiry: Your plan may change to one with lower limits, including when
a Subscription expires and you return to the free plan. If it does:
Pings beyond the new limits are paused automatically. We pause your most
recently created Pings first and keep the earliest ones within the limit. Paused Pings are
not deleted;
Channels beyond the new limits, and private Channels the new plan does not include, stay as
they are, but you may be unable to post to them. A private Channel is never
made public by a downgrade.
Upgrades: Upgrading does not automatically resume Pings that were paused; you may
resume them manually, subject to your plan's limits.
18 Refunds and Cancellations
Purchases are processed by the app stores, so refund requests are governed by the Apple App
Store and Google Play refund policies and must generally be made directly to Apple or
Google. We do not collect payment ourselves and typically cannot issue store refunds on your
behalf.
Consumed Credits and the used portion of any service are non-refundable except where a refund is
required by applicable law.
Nothing here limits any non-waivable statutory consumer rights you may have under applicable law.
19 Advertising
The mobile apps are supported in part by advertising served through Google AdMob.
Where required by law (e.g., in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), we present a consent prompt at startup,
and on iOS we use Apple's App Tracking Transparency, before any personalized advertising. You can
review your ad-consent choices in Settings → Ad Privacy Settings. The website may show
advertising served through Google AdSense to visitors and free-plan members, with
Google's consent message where required; you can change that choice with the Privacy & cookie
settings link beside any ad. Paid plans carry no advertising. We are not responsible for the content, products, or services of third-party advertisers,
and your dealings with advertisers are solely between you and them. See our Privacy Policy for details
and your ad choices.
20 Platform-Specific Terms (Apple & Google)
Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms of the store from which you obtained the app.
Apple (iOS): Your license is a Licensed Application End User License Agreement
consistent with Apple's Standard EULA, which is also linked from Settings → License
Agreement on iOS devices.
These Terms are between you and the Company only, not Apple.
Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support, or to handle warranty or
product-liability claims relating to the Application.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms,
with the right to enforce them.
iOS purchases are processed through the Apple App Store / StoreKit.
Google (Android): Your use is subject to the Google Play Terms of
Service (linked from Settings → Google Play Terms on Android devices), and
purchases are processed through Google Play Billing.
In case of conflict, the applicable store's rules on purchases and refunds prevail for those
transactions.
21 Intellectual Property
All content, source code, UI/UX design, and logos associated with Aletto are the exclusive property of
Tandavaworks Global LLP. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer
any part of the Service. The "Share Aletto" feature is provided only to recommend the app through a
link to our official store listing; you may not misrepresent the app or otherwise use our marks.
22 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
use the Service for illegal purposes, or to send spam, harassment, or unlawful Content;
add Recipients or contact users without their consent;
impersonate any person or brand through a username, Channel name or Handle, or
profile;
harvest, scrape, or index user profiles, usernames, Channels, Posts, or Follower
information;
send unsolicited or bulk connection, Ping, follow, or permission requests;
share or abuse verification links to gain unauthorized access;
evade blocking, moderation, or account suspension, or submit false or abusive reports;
interfere with our API, our backend, or notification delivery;
circumvent plan limits, Credits, advertising, or billing; or
attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, devices, or our systems.
You further agree not to:
Use Circles, Channels, or Arrive & Leave Requests to reach people who have not
consented, or to defeat a decline, a refusal, a mute, a departure, or a request
cooldown, including by using additional accounts.
Attempt to identify who follows a Channel, or whether someone refused, muted or
blocked you, by any means.
Use Arrive & Leave Requests to monitor, track, coerce, or pressure another
person. This is treated as a serious violation and may result in immediate, permanent
termination.
Use YouTube or Twitch Pings to build a surveillance or monitoring service
targeting a person, to redistribute a platform's data contrary to that platform's terms, or to
circumvent a platform's rate limits or access controls.
Manipulate Reaction counts, Follower counts, or any other metric.
Send unsolicited Invitations, invite addresses you did not obtain from the person
themselves, or attempt to defeat the invitation limits, the one-click unsubscribe, or the
suppression list, including by using additional accounts or address variations.
Scrape, crawl, spider, mirror, or programmatically access the website or the
Service, or access either other than through the app or a normal browser.
Use the invitation, connection, search, or profile features as an address or account
oracle, that is, to work out whether a particular email address or person exists, is
registered, or has opted out.
Upload unlawful media, or upload a photo or Voice Note of another person where you
do not have the right to share it. Do not use Voice Notes to record a person without their
knowledge where that is unlawful where either of you is.
Re-host, index, or systematically collect files served by the Service, or share
their addresses other than as part of ordinary use of the Service.
23 Accessibility
We strive to make Aletto accessible and to support platform accessibility features such as screen
readers, dynamic text sizing, contrast, reduced motion and reduced transparency. Accessibility support
is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis and does not change the disclaimers and limitations in these
Terms. If you experience an accessibility barrier, please contact us (see §31).
24 Support and Data Rights
The app provides an in-app Help & FAQ and a Contact Support option
under Settings → Support, and a Send Feedback option under Settings →
Feedback. You may export a copy of your data using Profile → Export My Data, in the app
or on the website, and
update or delete your information in your profile and Settings. Support is provided on a commercially
reasonable-efforts basis. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data and requests, including
how long backups are kept.
25 Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of
any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability,
fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service
will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any Ping will be delivered, monitored,
or executed. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above
may not apply to you.
26 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tandavaworks Global LLP and its
partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages,
or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or relating to the use of, or inability to
use, the Service. This includes missed, delayed, or undelivered Pings or Posts, and any
failure of monitoring or execution by any Delivery Method, even where a Subscription or
Credits have been purchased. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability
is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the three (3) months before
the claim, or (b) INR 1,000.
27 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company, its partners, and service providers from any
claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your
Content, your use or misuse of the Service, your Pings, Channels or Recipients, your violation of
these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
28 Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including
breach of these Terms or repeated or serious reports against you. Upon termination, your right to use
the Service ceases immediately. Terminating your Aletto account does not by itself cancel an active
store Subscription; you must cancel it in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings to stop
future renewals.
29 Governing Law, Disputes & Regional Terms
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu,
India have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of
residence.
EU/UK users: Nothing in these Terms affects your non-waivable statutory consumer
rights, including any mandatory right of withdrawal and remedies for non-conforming digital
content.
US users: Your use is also subject to applicable US laws. To the extent
permitted, disputes are resolved on an individual basis and not as a class action.
Your use of the Application may also be subject to other local or international laws.
30 Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of Aletto after changes are
posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
09 YouTube and Twitch Pings
A YouTube or Twitch Ping observes a public channel on a third-party platform and notifies you of an event you selected.
